SOME IMPORTANT DECISION MAKING STYLES NO ONE WILL TELL YOU.

            How to make a decision

·       Procrastinate; that is postpone something until a failure time

·       Have little control over the direction their lives take

Have difficulty gaining the self control or self confidence that will result if they took responsibility for making decisions when they should.
 DECISION

A decision is a choice that you make about something after due considerations. People make decisions because they want to achieve a particular objective or goal. Some of these decisions may not be the best, leading to failure. Because decision making needs a lot of careful thinking and consultations, many people become slow while some end up not making any decision at all. This happens especially with teenagers and even some adults.

As an individual you may have one of three possible styles of making decisions namely

                                 I.          Inactive decision making style.

                                II.          Relative decision making style.

                              III.          Proactive decision making style

We are going to examine these styles in detail.

a.        An inactive decision making style: It is a habit in which you fail to make choices. Those who use this style often do the following:

·

b.        A reactive decision making style: This is a habit in which you allow others to make decisions for you. Those who use this style are;

·       Easily influenced by what others think do or suggest.

·       Lack self confidence and have a great need to be liked by others.

·       Give control of the direction of their lives to others.

c.        A proactive decision making style: This is a habit in which a person describes the situation that requires a decision and makes a decision, and makes a decision and takes responsibility for the consequences. People who take this style:

·       Are not driven by circumstances and conditions.

·       Are not easily influenced by people.

·       Have principles such as integrity, honesty and dignity that guide their decisions and behavior.
A decision is like an unending road with many holes that has to be used with a lot of care.

For any organization to grow the leader must use the proactive-decision making style because of his experience skill and power.
