HOW RELATIONSHIP AFFECT HEALTH STATUS Did you know that the quality of your relationship affect your health status? A healthful relationship is one that: -promote self-respect, -encourages productivity and health, -is free of violence and/or drug misuse and abuse. Example of healthful relationships include those in which people identify strengths in each other, encourage each other to study, support each other’s exercise plans ,and motivate each other to avoid risk behaviors. A harmful relationship is one that: -harms self respect, -interferes with productivity and health, -includes violence and/or drug misuse and abuse. Examples of harmful relationships include those in which one or both people criticize each other, interrupt each other’s work, and encourage each other to engage in risk behaviors, or drain each other of energy.
